Evidence-based insomnia therapy with Tracy Hannigan
CBT-I | ACT-I | British Sleep Society | Society for Behavioural Sleep Medicine | British Society of Lifestyle Medicine

Why extended support matters
Many people do well in the six-week programme. But some people will want or need more support.
In 12 weeks we can work through normal fluctuations in sleep responses, address fear and hyper-vigilance alongside behaviours, and give you time-tested strategies supported by ongoing connection and guidance. For people whose fear of sleep hijacks their nights and days, this extended support helps build lasting confidence.
Twelve weeks allows us to:
- work at a pace your nervous system can tolerate
- reduce fear and anticipatory anxiety around sleep
- support a smoother more confident taper of your meds
- support you through wobbles and setbacks as they arise
- build confidence through repetition and lived proof, not reassurance
This length matters when anxiety is through the roof or you are tapering because insomnia is rarely linear.
Progress often includes fluctuations — and having continued support through those moments helps prevent doubt from taking over.
The goal here isn’t faster results.
It’s steadier, more resilient change.
For many clients, twelve weeks provides the consistency and safety needed for sleep to stop feeling like something that has to be managed.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy For Insomnia
Terribly named, this is not like ordinary CBT. And forget the scary things you read online. Where appropriate, we may use some CBTI principles in a flexible way that works for you.
Acceptance and Committment Therapy for Insomnia
The harder we engage in battle against sleeplessness, the less likely we will sleep. Learn how to 'drop the struggle' to set the stage for resilient sleep for a lifetime.
Health Coaching and Behaviour Change Support
Once you know WHAT to do, behavioural change support can help you actually DO it.
What happens in sleep therapy?
Sleep therapy is NOT sleep hygiene training. Most of my clients have better sleep hygine than I do, and I do not have insomnia.
There are a lot of other misconceptions about sleep therapy, particularly the CBTI elements.
Forget what you read online. You are here now. You do not live in a laboratory, so strict laboratory rules are not what we do.
You CAN improve your sleep – even if you have longstanding pain or perimenopause symptoms.
We use evidence-based principles to craft a plan together that is designed to get you to where you want, in a way that is doable for you.
If your sleep has changed during perimenopause, see my perimenopause and menopause sleep coaching.

Tapering Medication?
Medication Tapering Support
If you’re currently taking sleep medication or supplements and want to stop, The Sleep Reframe provides the extended timeline and support you need to taper safely while rebuilding your natural sleep.
Important: I work collaboratively with your prescribing physician’s plan. I don’t manage medication decisions, but I DO help you navigate the psychological challenges of tapering and give you evidence-based behavioural strategies to support the process.
This is especially valuable if you’ve tried to quit medication before and failed because the rebound insomnia was too scary.

Holly AtkinsonHuge help I have struggled with insomnia for years! I have tried everything to help my waking up multiple times in the night stop and nothing worked! Speaking to a sleep coach was my last resort but I was pleasantly surprised when the advice Tracy gave me actually started working about 4 days after our first call! Tracy has helped me so much and I am finally achieving a good nights sleep where I wake up so much less! I have the techniques now and understand sleep more since working with Tracy! Tracy is so friendly and knowledgeable and I would recommend working with her if you are struggling to sleep! Thanks again for all your help!!Trustpilot- Phoebe WalshI have been working with Tracy over the past few months and have made more progress with my sleep than I have in years of trying! Tracy is kind and caring, and very easy to talk to. Unlike other sleep therapists I have tried, Tracy really tailored her approach to my specific problem. Would highly recommend.Tracy The Sleep Coach UK - Adult Insomnia
- Kathryn DarlingI suffered from mild-moderate insomnia before I started working with Tracy. I had previously completed an NHS programme but still suffered with bad sleep and deep anxiety about sleep. Working with Tracy helped me overcome the anxiety and develop more positive sleep habits. As a result, I no longer worry about going to sleep and have been sleeping well. I would recommend Tracy to anyone who is suffering from lack of sleep!Tracy The Sleep Coach UK - Adult Insomnia
- Tim LucasI have engaged with Tracy both on a 1-1 paid consultancy basis and through her many interesting and informative social media posts. She is compassionate and incisive in her observations and advice. It is personal - she can read your situation - It’s not sheep dip therapy. It didn’t take much time or cost that much either. Perhaps a final comment is that some form of acceptance of who you are and what is happening is important. Difficult to learn off the cuff. Some immersion in the issues really guide the way here.Tracy The Sleep Coach UK - Adult Insomnia
- Rachel MillwardTruly life changing. I had hit rock bottom, insomnia had completely taken away my ability to function at work, as a mum, at life generally. I was beyond desperate, yet within 3 weeks Tracy had given me my life back. Forget what you thought you knew about sleep hygiene or anything you've tried before. This works!!Tracy The Sleep Coach UK - Adult Insomnia
- Cindy WadeAfter experiencing insomnia on and off for several months I knew that I needed additional support. I was already a member of Tracy's Sound Sleep Strategies Facebook group and liked her approach so signed up for the Sleep Reboot Program. Tracy suggested one small change to my sleep routine and it wasn't long before I was sleeping better. And when I have a bad night, I'm coping with it better so that it doesn't turn into several bad nights. Tracy's approach is caring and compassionate and I felt so at ease in our sessions. I have my happy back. Thanks, Tracy!Tracy The Sleep Coach UK - Adult Insomnia
- Pamela MasonHaving been struggling with sleep… Having been struggling with sleep issues for a few months, I realised I needed help. Tracy is very professional, very focused and extremely knowledgeable on sleep. For me she quickly identified where my sleep issues lay and pointed to things I could do to improve my sleep. I found the sleep diary she provided very effective for spotting sleep (or lack of) patterns. This helped me to do my own analysis as I filled it in for 6 weeks. I have been able to assess how much sleep I really need and I am now pretty near being able to achieve that. Tracy really helped me to stabilise my sleep patterns instead of the erratic patterns I had suffered during previous months. The overall programme is very good value for money. Tracy is very generous with the time she provides. A big thank you!Trustpilot
- frenchieTracy's programs gave me my life back! After struggling with insomnia all my life, I did the CBTI program during Covid which helped, yet I needed more support. I found Tracy on Facebook. She not only provided continuous coaching support and tips through her live video interactions/ courses, but her group of followers also responded and we became friends... all over the world. Truly a gift in my life!Trustpilot
Angela AtkinsonJust after 1 hour online session with… Just after 1 hour online session with Tracy the difference to my sleeping is incredible. Tracy taught me various techniques to deal with my night time waking which I had thought was caused by back pain. My sleep problems have practically disappeared and if I do wake I now feel equipped with techniques to enable me to go back to sleep.Trustpilot- Emily MollettNever looked back I went to Tracy earlier in the year when I was experiencing the worst phase of insomnia, some nights it would be two or three hours and others none. I was calling in sick to work and having to go back and forth with doctors about going on medication or not. I reached out to Tracy and had a quick chat a few hours later about what I was experiencing and the issues I was facing. After one session my sleep after a week was already so much better. Full nights of sleep, not getting up in the middle of the night and no more insomnia! She gave me all the right tools and tips to help me get my sleep better which stopped my insomnia so quick, since this I have made no more phone calls to work about being sick and starting to ease off my mediation. Having chronic insomnia is so disheartening and takes over your life, thankfully for having Tracy there she allowed me to get back in control and get myself back on track.Trustpilot
- aayushi karsanCould not recommend enough I started experiencing some sleeping issues for the first time in my life around October 2024 which got progressively worse over the next few months. I felt helpless, anxious and completely lost. I was lucky enough to be come across Tracy in January 2025 and I’ve never been more grateful! Tracy helped me understand what was causing my insomnia and provided me with the most invaluable techniques to manage the issue but also the constant anxiety around it too. Within a weeks I saw a tremendous improvement with my insomnia and I slowly started to feel like my old self again. It was so comforting having Tracy to talk to and guide me with my issues as she’s experienced them herself and can completely empathise with how difficult it can be. I went from sleeping between 30 minutes – 2 hours per night in November 2024 to not having a single sleepless night in March 2025, with the help of Tracy. Fast forward to now, I no longer find myself struggling with insomnia and if I ever have a sleepless night or struggle to sleep I know exactly how to overcome it quickly. I honestly could not recommend her enough and am so grateful for her help and support. Her tips and techniques are so helpful and she helps finds techniques that are tailored specifically for you. She’s comforting and responds very quickly when you need her.Trustpilot
- HarmanAnxiety and Worry melted away Tracy offered a warm, comfortable aura and space to talk about the sleep challenges I was facing. She explained everything in great detail and used analogies to help convey the messages and helped me understand the specific problems I was encountering. From our chemistry call through to the paid sessions I learned valuable tips, received advice and learned strategies on how I could improve my sleep. I was surprised at how quickly the changes were embeded and now fall alseep in minutes. The worry I had about sleep has melted away and I now look forward to getting into my bed. I'd recommend booking in a chemistry call at least to discuss how Tracy may be able to help you if you struggle with sleep. Thank you Tracy!Trustpilot
- CAROL C.Tracy is truly amazing and so easy to start sleeping. I had been taking pills every night for 15 years or more and the pills always stopped working. I did three video chats with tracy and it was like magic, it was not hard at all for me, and I was sleeping well in just a few nights. I wish that I had tried CBTI with tracy years ago.Tracy The Sleep Coach UK - Adult Insomnia
- Jonathon RenwickI am so thankful for Tracy’s group and individual sessions. I am a trauma treatment specialist and refer clients suffering with insomnia to her all the time. For myself, I was struggling for over a year with insomnia after a divorce. I found Tracey’s method simple with no tricks or gimmicks. I have since slept soundly and don’t panic when things get off track a bit with my sleep as I know things will return to normal! The world needs more people like Tracy!! 😊Tracy The Sleep Coach UK - Adult Insomnia
Octavia ChristinaTracy is such a compassionate and… Tracy is such a compassionate and empathetic coach. She really sees and understands the struggles you have - she has been there herself. She was so supportive in her approach, I found myself after our session together really starting to surrender to the new approaches that she offered. Insomnia is really a lonely and scary place to be if you don't have a higher perspective. She will support in giving you that! Thanks Tracy!Trustpilot- Matthew StoutWorking with Tracy has been great from minute one. She was very open and honest, worked at my pace rather than hers, helped me to rethink sleep, given me the tools to go on independently, the list goes on. I’ve very much enjoyed Tracy’s ‘human’ approach to coaching; she does a truly great job of making you feel heard, and it’s clear she cares about helping you to achieve the outcomes you’re after. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Tracy, whatever your personal relationship with sleep.Tracy The Sleep Coach UK - Adult Insomnia
- Darren BlackI’ve suffered with Insomnia on and off for most of my life lately I had a particularly bad time with it going on for months I was in a bad place however Tracy has helped me massively by showing me the techniques and tools to use so that I can be in control of it it does not control me? I seemed to have turned a corner lately but it’s early days Thankyou Tracy for all your help in getting me out of the miserable abyss I was in hopefully now I can push on and get back to my normal sleeping pattern I highly recommend her to people who suffer from insomnia 🙏Tracy The Sleep Coach UK - Adult Insomnia
- Verene NicolasI would recommend Tracy to anyone with insomnia I've just finished the 'sleep reboot programme'. I found Tracy's approach super practical, packed with achievable goals and useful practices. I would recommend her to anyone who suffers from insomnia. There are very sleep coaches for adults 'out there'. The health service in the UK offers no reliable pathways for people with my kind of insomnia (as far as i am aware at least). Tracy's coaching fills this gap and I am super grateful to have found her. My sleep has improved significantly since our first meeting, even if it remains fragile under certain circumstances (which I have learnt to recognise and can now track more effectively). Tracy, please continue to offer this work. You are super good at it! ❤️Trustpilot
- Ralu NechitaTracy is knowledge, kind, warm and we clicked immediately. She helped me dealing with insomnia during a tough period of my life. For me, most importantly was the reassurance, which I needed so badly at that time and the understanding of the process behind sleep. I strongly recommend her.Tracy The Sleep Coach UK - Adult Insomnia
- Amber GoddardI cant recommend Tracy enough - I reached out to Tracy after going through a particularly rough patch with sleep, after having tried everything CBTI seemed like my last ditch attempt. Tracy & CBTI has changed the way i view sleep & sleeplessness which is exactly what i needed. Tracy is attentive, extremely responsive, caring & most important for me has lived experience of Insomnia so talks with such empathy. I will be forever grateful for Tracy, her support & the added bonus of a wide support group on Facebook.Tracy The Sleep Coach UK - Adult Insomnia
- StephanieI seem to be sleeping a lot better… I seem to be sleeping a lot better after Tracy’s course! I’ve been putting into practice the knowledge she shared and the various tips, and so far things are good. I have a suffered for years with sleep problems and even worse since my second baby as I cannot get back to sleep after he has woken up. I have various health issues that are made worse by lack of sleep and now I’m so grateful to not be struggling in that department. Thank you to Tracy for putting the course together and for the amazing work helping people.Trustpilot

- Voice messages when you need to talk something through
- Text messages for quick questions
- Photos (like of your sleep diary if you want feedback)
I respond within 24 hours on weekdays, often much sooner.
Real examples of how clients use Voxer:
- "Tracy, I had a terrible night. Can you help me make sense of what happened?"
- "Week 2 of tapering and I'm feeling really anxious. Is this normal?"
- "I have a work trip next week - how do I handle the time zone change without backsliding?"

This is the safety net that makes the hard work feel less scary. You're not alone.
Tired and wired? Can't sleep and feeling rather obsessed and highly anxious? Or are you on medication and want support coming off? The Sleep Reframe is for you.
If you are falling asleep easily in various circumstances during the day, and having difficulty at night as well, you may have a non-insomnia sleep disorder. We'll need to chat first and I may refer you to my trusted partner for a different kind of assessment.
If you don't need so much support, then The Sleep Reboot may be best for you.
I will ask you some questions to get us started, and I'll explain how sleep really works so that my suggestions will make sense. Then we will use evidence-based principles from sleep therapy to craft a plan together to improve your sleep. You don't need to bring anything. I'll make 'notes' for you and email them to you after the session.
Just let me know and I'll send you a link that shows you how to use it. If you can use a web browser, you can do it!
Yes, Zoom can be used on your phone or tablet. I ask that you please keep it stationary and turn off the 'follow my face' function so I do not get seasick from the movement 🙂 You may benefit from being able to make your own notes and not be distracted, so if it's not necessary to be on the phone I suggest you use a laptop or desktop computer.
Yes, I'm able to work with clients worldwide as long as we can find a mutually agreeable time in the diary.
My packages have generous payment plan options to make it easier to afford. You can spread your payments across three months. This can be extended to four. At 250/month - less than most people spend on supplements and sleep aids that don't work, and a fraction of what months of poor sleep costs you in productivity, sick days, and quality of life.
I use a secure payment processor called Stripe, which runs online purchasing processes worldwide. I never see your card details.
I charge in GBP (British Pounds). Here you can check what the rate is in your own currency by changing the currency on the right hand side to your own : XE
